Lifeworks is a nonprofit organization that helps people with disabilities live fuller lives that are integrated into the flow of community experience.

We at Project Heart were blessed with the opportunity to go caroling at this wonderful place, and provide nostalgic entertainment for everyone around. It was a blast! Here are some photos from the experience:

• Caroling at St. Joe’s Hospital in St. Paul in early December!
• Singing at Lifeworks, in mid-December!
• Planning the lock-in, which will raise money for Relay for Life, which will hopefully take place in February!

We’re getting really excited for the upcoming season of joy. 

The bake sale turned out really, really awesome. We raised $230.60 for Somalia! Yay! A big thank you to Cupcake for donating cupcakes, coffee, and napkins! :)

Horn of Africa Crisis: By the Numbers

With all the news of the tragedy in the Horn in Africa, we’ve decided to switch our focus. Instead of holding a bake sale for Share Our Strength, we are instead going to give the proceeds to the World Food Programme. 

Hello everyone!

This summer, we’ve decided to do two things:

1. We are going to hold a bake sale for Share Our Strength. They are trying to end childhood hunger, and Project Heart would like to do whatever we can to help. Right now, we’re contacting local bakeries and coffee shops to see if they are interested in donating baked goods and/or matching what we raise. I’m excited. 
2. We are going to make little business card sized cards that say happy things, like: “Smile.” “Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day.” “You are beautiful.” “Be free.” Etc. And we’re going to distribute them everywhere we can get to! That means not just here in Minnesota. It’s our goal to brighten as many days as we possibly can.
